In the shadowy world of drone warfare, combat unfolds like a video game-only with real lives at stake. After six tours of duty, Air Force pilot Tom Egan (Ethan Hawke) yearns to get back into the cockpit of a real plane, but he now fights theTaliban from an air-conditioned box in the Las Vegas desert. When he and his crew start taking orders directly from the CIA, and the stakes are raised, Egan's nerves-and his relationship with his wife (Mad Men's January Jones)-begin to unravel. Revealing the psychological toll drone pilots endure as they are forced to witness the aftermath of their fight against insurgents, Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, Lord of War) directs this riveting insider's view of 21st-century warfare, in which operatives target enemies from half a world away. Comment For Good Kill Full Movie Part 1

Name : Stephen Holden / Alias : New York Times
Disregard the arguments for and against drone warfare advanced in "Good Kill," and the movie still makes a persuasive case that our blind infatuation with all-powerful technology is stripping us of our humanity.

Name : Chris Nashawaty / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
Good Kill is well-intentioned, but the topic of joystick combat needs more nuanced treatment than it gets here.

Name : Bill Goodykoontz / Alias : Arizona Republic
This is repugnant stuff. But, at least in the film, there's no gray area.

Name : Guy Lodge / Alias : Variety
Andrew Niccol takes on the topical issue of drone strikes in a tense war drama notable for its tact and intelligence.

Name : Cary Darling / Alias : Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com
Directed and written by Andrew Niccol (whose phenomenal 1997 film Gattaca also starred Hawke), and supposedly "based on actual events," Good Kill raises important questions about the nature of modern warfare, but it is a bit heavy-handed and strained.

Name : Ann Hornaday / Alias : Washington Post
For the most part, "Good Kill" asks pertinent, enduring questions, not by way of polemic, but through the study of a character whose professionalism and competence are given full respect, even when they're challenged by the mission at hand.

Name : Joe Neumaier / Alias : New York Daily News
It's all far more unsettling than any horror film.

Name : James Berardinelli / Alias : ReelViews
Good Kill excels as a character study with Niccol's screenplay making Egan a fascinatingly conflicted and flawed individual and Ethan Hawke giving one of his best recent performances bringing the man to life.

Name : A.A. Dowd / Alias : AV Club
Heavy on speeches and light on actual drama.

Name : Richard Roeper / Alias : Chicago Sun-Times
But the visuals pack a visceral punch. Every time Tom zeroes in on a target, every time he pushes that button, what we see on those monitors is brutally authentic.

Name : Colin Covert / Alias : Minneapolis Star Tribune
How long can you push that button before feeling like an assassin? How do you relate to teammates who say that's exactly the right thing to do?

Name : Sara Stewart / Alias : New York Post
Niccol's film may not be perfect, but it shines a light on a subject many viewers will know vaguely by name - and not much more.

Name : Joe Williams / Alias : St. Louis Post-Dispatch
We need to have a dialogue about the wages of war in the remote-control era. But it's hard to spark a good dialogue with movies whose dialogue is so bad.

Name : David Edelstein / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
Potent enough to make me wish it were less clunky.

Name : Stephanie Zacharek / Alias : Village Voice
The picture is quiet, tense, and thoughtful.

Name : Soren Anderson / Alias : Seattle Times
Thoughtful and immensely gripping .

Name : Stephen Whitty / Alias : Newark Star-Ledger
What Niccol is really interested in . is what this kind of warfare does to the men and women pushing the buttons and adding up the numbers.

Name : Joe Morgenstern / Alias : Wall Street Journal
Compelling as the subject may be, its abstract nature would challenge the most skillful of dramatists, and Mr. Niccol's script seldom rises above slogans, argumentation and standard-brand domestic tension.

Name : Ben Sachs / Alias : Chicago Reader
The bold, confrontational tone commands one's attention, and the cast - which also includes Bruce Greenwood and Zoe Kravitz - is superb.

Name : Peter Travers / Alias : Rolling Stone
Will gamers be the drone pilots of tomorrow? Will death lose its sting? Niccol conjectures all over the place. He's doing too much, pushing too hard. Condemn the guy or clone him? You be the judge.

Name : Ty Burr / Alias : Boston Globe
"Good Kill" wants to use the movies as a Trojan horse to confront us with our international sins. It's a worthy effort, even if it's not a very well-built horse.

Name : Brad Wheeler / Alias : Globe and Mail
Good Kill is half-measure, with a redemptive ending that plays as safe and bogus.

Name : Anthony Lane / Alias : New Yorker
Hawke is on a roll right now, and "Good Kill" stirs him to another performance of cogency and zeal. Is it sufficient, however, to support an entire movie?

Name : Tirdad Derakhshani / Alias : Philadelphia Inquirer
One of the most insightful films about the War on Terror since 9/11.

Name : David Rooney / Alias : Hollywood Reporter
Psychologically complex and unsettling .

Name : Rafer Guzman / Alias : Newsday
The discomfiting premise and a fine performance by Hawke make this somewhat thinly written drama worth seeing.

Name : Glenn Whipp / Alias : Los Angeles Times
Where Niccol succeeds is in creating an atmosphere of self-loathing, both for those manning the drones and the audience watching them work.

Name : Justin Chang / Alias : NPR
It's a movie that hits every one of its ideological targets, but still winds up missing the mark.

Name : Tom Huddleston / Alias : Time Out
A sombre, intelligent drama that critiques Obama's ongoing drone policy while still positioning its button-pushing characters as tortured anti-heroes.

Name : Tom Long / Alias : Detroit News
"Good Kill" is darkly enlightening, but it's not really all that good.

Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her ‘out of control‘ 6 year-old, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), a son she finds impossible to love. Samuel‘s dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both. When a disturbing storybook called ‘The Babadook‘ turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he‘s been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control, he becomes more unpredictable and violent. Amelia, genuinely frightened by her son‘s behaviour, is forced to medicate him. But when Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real. (C) IFC.

Comment For Kijken Naar The Babadook Volledige Film

Name : Scott Foundas / Alias : Variety
Manages to deliver real, seat-grabbing jolts while also touching on more serious themes of loss, grief and other demons that can not be so easily vanquished.

Name : Chris Nashawaty / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
In an age when horror movies have mostly become lazy and toothless, here's one with ambition and bite.

Name : Drew Hunt / Alias : Chicago Reader
The Babadook makes a convincing argument for classy, psychological horror cinema even as it fails to meet its own lofty standard.

Name : Adam Graham / Alias : Detroit News
Credit writer-director Jennifer Kent for lending her Australian indie a healthy dose of brains and subtlety, giving it a distinct advantage over most modern horror films.

Name : William Goss / Alias : Film.com
An impressively chilling exercise in old-school restraint.

Name : Michael Phillips / Alias : Chicago Tribune
Kent has taste, an eye and a knack for brisk, accelerated pacing. In the case of "The Babadook," familiarity breeds an eerily gratifying contentment.

Name : Bill Goodykoontz / Alias : Arizona Republic
This is a really scary movie.

Name : A.O. Scott / Alias : New York Times
You will be scared. And also, perhaps even more scarily, moved.

Name : A.A. Dowd / Alias : AV Club
What really distinguishes The Babadook, however, is the metaphorical potency of its narrative.

Name : David Rooney / Alias : Hollywood Reporter
This is a different kind of nail-biter that has less to do with demonic possession than with the renegade power of an untamed imagination.

Name : Stephen Whitty / Alias : Newark Star-Ledger
Although the supernatural seems the likeliest answer, it's not the only one, and audiences can read the film either way.

Name : Moira MacDonald / Alias : Seattle Times
Shot in chilly shades of blue, "The Babadook" will haunt anyone who's ever heard a cry in the night - or wondered what was under the bed, in the dark.

Name : Colin Covert / Alias : Minneapolis Star Tribune
"The Babadook" is urgent, uncanny and entirely disturbing, a dream within a dream within a nightmare. It is the best English language supernatural film of this new century.

Name : Alan Scherstuhl / Alias : Village Voice
It's the most horror I've felt at a horror film since Neil Marshall's The Descent, one where the scares don't release the tension - they harrow.

Name : Peter Travers / Alias : Rolling Stone
This psychological thriller from gifted first-time filmmaker Jennifer Kent will have you climbing the walls simply by plumbing the violence of the mind. Brace yourself.

Name : David Edelstein / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
In the running with Boyhood as my favorite movie of 2014 is another work that turns on the challenges of parenting. This one is a tad more insane.

Name : Betsy Sharkey / Alias : Los Angeles Times
"The Babadook" is a smart, darkly drawn modern-day horror movie of monsters, memories and mothers.

Name : Inkoo Kang / Alias : TheWrap
"An exceptionally rich psychological portrait of a woman, it's an enormously compassionate and sadly relevant film about misplaced blame and the often impossible demands of motherhood."

Name : Joshua Rothkopf / Alias : Time Out New York
Who thinks up a film like The Babadook? Actress-turned-debuting-feature-director Jennifer Kent has the narrative chutzpah to show her entire hand in the pop-up story and then make us squirm as foretold events come true.

Name : Cary Darling / Alias : Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com
Director Kent has made the kind of striking film that is going to have mainstream Hollywood haunting her like a Babadook in a bad mood. For the sake of her idiosyncratic vision, let's hope she doesn't frighten easily.

Name : Michael O'Sullivan / Alias : Washington Post
With its mixture of frights both literal and literary, "The Babadook" will, I suspect, satisfy horror's devotees as much as the genre's doubters.

Name : Rene Rodriguez / Alias : Miami Herald
This is a dark and shivery story about motherhood, a common subject for horror movies, but one that's rarely treated with such intelligence or seriousness of intent.

Name : Rafer Guzman / Alias : Newsday
Jennifer Kent's startling debut is an artful horror-chiller that gets under your skin and into your psyche.

Name : Dana Stevens / Alias : Slate
The Babadook makes everyday domestic life seem like the most natural possible place to encounter monsters of every description, including the monsters that we ourselves have the capacity to become.

Name : Steven Rea / Alias : Philadelphia Inquirer
No matter how successful The Babadook turns out to be - and Jennifer Kent's horror story deserves all the success it gets - the prospects of a best-selling kid-lit tie-in don't look good.

Name : Jordan Hoffman / Alias : New York Daily News
One of the smartest and most effective horror films in years.

Name : Sara Stewart / Alias : New York Post
I like to imagine watching this chilling Australian horror film with late, great authors Shel Silverstein, Roald Dahl and Edward Gorey - all of whom would have relished its twisted children's storybook at the center of things.

Name : Wesley Morris / Alias : Grantland
Sometimes you go to a movie and know from the first image that whoever made it knows what she's doing. You don't need convincing. You're there with her. Jennifer Kent's The Babadook is like that.

Name : Joe Morgenstern / Alias : Wall Street Journal
A small film that packs a horribly big punch.

Name : Ella Taylor / Alias : NPR
The Babadook makes the most of its special effects as needed, but this smart little frightener keeps its head close to the rising anxiety of a young widow whose husband died a violent death.

Name : Ty Burr / Alias : Boston Globe
A potent journey through the fears, anxieties, and repressed rages of motherhood.

Name : Richard Roeper / Alias : Chicago Sun-Times
As someone who has developed a pretty thick Critic's Shield from years of watching standard haunted house/possessed human/mythological-creature fare, I have to say I was genuinely freaked out by some of the passages in The Badabook.

Name : Anthony Lane / Alias : New Yorker
Let a law be passed, requiring all horror films to be made by female directors.
